In winter we have large heat losses through the windows because the heat is simply transferred to the colder parts
and is wasted. In summer the windows allow sunlight to pass so that the building is heated very quickly and needs air
conditioning for cooling.
Heat Reflector window for summer
The heat reflector has two sides: One side with aluminum coating that reflects solar radiation (infrared) and a black / dark side that accumulates heat.
In the summer you turn the side with aluminum coating towards outside so that the reflected rays of the sun stay outside the room.

The heat reflector uses the black/dark side turned towards outside to try to get maximum heat from the sun. The interior side with aluminum reflects the heat inside so that the heat remains in the room and is not lost through the window.
